1800s Victorian Exterior Restoration in Fergus - Soffit, Fascia, Eavestroughs & Custom Aluminum
This 1800s Victorian home in Fergus, Ontario required a detailed exterior roofline restoration that preserved the character of the original home while replacing deteriorated materials and improving long-term protection.
The project included structural repairs to rotten fascia boards and rafter tails, a two-tone soffit and fascia system, new eavestroughs, custom frieze board detailing, and more than 1,000 feet of custom-bent aluminum installed throughout the exterior.

Rotten Fascia Board & Rafter Tail Repairs in Fergus
Once the existing soffit and fascia were removed, sections of deteriorated wood became visible throughout the roofline.
Rotten fascia boards were removed and replaced to provide a solid fastening surface for the new aluminum fascia and eavestrough system.
Several damaged rafter tails also required repairs before the exterior could be properly closed back in.
Completing these repairs before installing the finished aluminum allowed us to rebuild the roofline correctly instead of simply covering the existing damage.
Two-Tone Soffit, Fascia & Eavestrough Installation
A two-tone soffit, fascia and eavestrough system was installed to complement the original yellow brick and architectural character of the Victorian home.
The contrasting finishes highlight the rooflines and detailed trim while giving the exterior a cleaner, more finished appearance.
New soffit provides proper ventilation throughout the roofline, while the fascia and seamless eavestrough system protect the repaired wood structure and help properly manage rainwater around the home.
What the homeowner had to say
We had an outstanding experience with Provincial Interior & Exterior! Austin and his crew did all of our soffits, eavestroughs, and fascia, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
From the very beginning, Austin was incredibly professional, patient, and thorough in answering all of our questions. The entire process was smooth and stress-free.
The crew - Davis, Tyler, and Terry, were fantastic. True craftsmen, polite, respectful, and detail-oriented. They took great care in their work, and it really shows in the finished product.
Everything was completed on time and on budget, exactly as promised. My wife and I are thrilled with how our home looks now and have already received compliments from neighbours!
Highly recommend Provincial Interior & Exterior if you’re looking for top-quality work and a great customer experience.
