This Acton home underwent a major exterior upgrade focused on improving durability, insulation, weather protection, and overall appearance. Our team completed new steel siding along with extensive preparation and building-envelope improvements to ensure the exterior performs properly for years to come.
Sheathing Replacement, Envelope Repairs, Insulation & Strapping
Once the exterior was opened up, damaged and deteriorated sheathing was removed and replaced, including areas affected by rot and moisture damage. We repaired the compromised sections of the building envelope and extended the sheathing where required to create a solid, continuous exterior wall system. Permeable fibreglass exterior insulation was then installed to improve the thermal performance of the home while allowing the wall assembly to remain breathable. Exterior strapping was installed over the insulation to create a proper fastening surface for the new steel siding while also providing a drainage and ventilation space behind the finished exterior.
New Windows & Doors
The renovation also included the installation of new windows and exterior doors.
Each opening was properly integrated into the new wall assembly with attention to flashing, weather protection, insulation, and exterior finishing.
Completing the windows and doors before the final siding installation allowed the entire exterior system to be properly tied together.
Rear Deck & Stair Rebuild
The existing rear deck and stair system was rebuilt as part of the exterior renovation.
The new stairs were properly laid out and constructed to finish on the concrete landing below, creating a safer, more functional transition from the deck to grade. The rebuild also gave us the opportunity to properly integrate the deck area with the newly renovated exterior of the home.
Steel Siding Installation
With the building envelope repaired and the insulation, strapping, windows, doors, and deck work completed, the home was finished with new steel siding.
The steel siding provides a durable, low-maintenance exterior designed to withstand Ontario weather while completely transforming the appearance of the home.
